Google Pixel 2 XL Review

Among the many different phones on the market today, the Google Pixel 2 Xl is one of the most powerful phones you can buy. It features an impressive display, a good camera, and a long battery life. It’s also worth noting that the Pixel 2 Xl is one of the few phones that can charge wirelessly. It also comes with a software update that will make it even better.

Display

Despite being the successor to the original Pixel, the Google Pixel 2 XL launched with a plethora of display issues. These issues ranged from muted colors to burn-in. Google had to address these issues with a software update that calibrated colors. However, there are still some fundamental issues with the Pixel 2 XL display that cannot be solved with software updates. These issues may be caused by the phone’s hardware.

The Pixel 2 XL display has a resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels. It uses a diamond subpixel arrangement to achieve higher pixel density. The display has a screen-to-body ratio of 76.4%. The Pixel 2 XL also has a circular polarizer and waterproofing. The Pixel 2 XL also runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

The Pixel 2 XL has a 12-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture. The Pixel 2 XL has 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage. The Pixel 2 XL also runs Chrome for Android. The Pixel 2 XL has a 6-inch, QHD, 18:9 OLED display. The display has a brightness of 437 nits and a pixel density of 538 pixels per inch.

Bezels

Whether you like it or not, the bezels of Google Pixel 2 XL aren’t quite as thin as other devices. However, it’s not quite as big as the iPhone 7 Plus. It’s also not as cluttered or oversized as the Pixel 4.

While bezels aren’t the ideal size for smartphones, they’re still not overly obtrusive. And while they may have the marketing value of the smartphone-empowerment-miracle-of-the-so-called-screen-cut-out’, they’re not quite as essential to a device as a touchscreen.

In fact, some of the most popular flagships from the past few years have had bezels, but they’re oversized. While the Pixel 2 XL isn’t quite as obtrusive as the iPhone 7, it’s still pretty big.

The bezels of Google Pixel 2 XL also make the phone’s camera protrude from the body, which could make it easy to scratch or damage. However, Pixel 2 XL’s camera has been improved, allowing users to take better pictures. It also has a more rounded camera, making it easier to hold.

Camera

Software update

Those with the Pixel 2 Xl may have noticed a “faint clicking noise” coming from their device. This is a bug that Google has fixed in the latest software update. The update also fixes a KRACK Wi-Fi vulnerability. If you’re on Wi-Fi, you’ll be prompted to reboot to apply the update. If you’re on mobile data, you can force the update.

If you want to check for a software update for your Pixel 2 Xl, open the Settings app. From there, scroll down to System. Then, click the Software Update option.

Once you’ve selected the Software Update option, you’ll be taken to the Android system update screen. There, you can schedule an update or download it manually. The update will include the latest security patches and bug fixes for the device.

Before you install the update, you’ll want to back up any important data. This can take some time, so be patient.
