Bike the West

America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride (ABBR), hosted by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), provides an incredible way to explore Lake Tahoe. Following along its beautiful blue water and majestic snow-capped mountains, America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride delivers an experience you won’t soon forget! Whether taking on either its 100 or 72-mile routes – either event promises an unforgettable journey!

At Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, riders can experience an exciting post-ride meal and pool party as part of LLS’ Team In Training national fundraising program, raising over $100 Million since 1988 for blood cancer research. While not an easy ride due to the steep and sustained climbs on its course, its breathtaking views more than make up for any fatigue involved in its completion.

Eric Fong established Bike the West to produce legendary bike races throughout Nevada and California, such as the Comstock Silver Century, Challenge with Greg LeMond, Death Camp, and Altitude 9000 Ride with Mammoth Cycling Classic. Additionally, he sponsors the USA Pro Cycling Team while contributing to various community charities; with a fantastic passion for cycling, he is an invaluable supporter of local cycling communities.

He has competed in several 24-hour solo bicycle races across America, such as Race Across America. Additionally, he participated in Tour de Tahoe, which is a clockwise race around Lake Tahoe, and hosted his annual One Awesome Tour Bike Ride Across Nevada from Stateline to Ely.

Even though its beauty makes this route beautiful, its challenges can make it challenging. Cyclists should pay close attention to terrain and traffic conditions before embarking. Roads may narrow in some spots; cyclists should exercise caution when crossing driveways and intersections. There is often vehicular traffic in the summer months, which makes navigation challenging at times.
